Internet Marketing

As far as I can tell, Google just came up with a Key Word search engine. This is exciting because I was a little discouraged from Yahoo and some other random search engine results for forex related key words. I was thinking, to get enough traffic, I would have to make a web site about heart attacks. I read somewhere that that heart attacks, treatment and stuff is 1/3 of the US economy. But with Google I found there was 2,740,000 searches on Forex, 30,400,000 searches on Heart last month. That means that I only have to ultimately get one cent off every 3 people searching "forex" on the internet, every month, and I would be making well over $100k a year, with that. That is so easily achievable, it is exciting.

Toronto air stinks. I only just really noticed today, on Blur street, it smelt like exhaust. But there was probably also a tint of garbage smell, because garbage is piled high on both sides of the street, with no garbage pick up.

Welcome to Toronto

We were welcomed to Toronto, with accident after accident on the 401. Traffic moved at 2 miles an hour for hours. When we finally started moving we passed a good 4 different accident scenes and one lone car stalled in the middle of the lane.

Michelle didn’t let me leave the dogs at any of the truck stops that we stopped at, but we didn’t get all the way across Canada without casualty. Michelle’s new car windshield took the hurt from some debris. It is a non issue, as the 12” X shaped crack is on the passenger side, and only reaches one edge of the windshield so far. After a winter of blowing hot defrost air on a cold windshield, I am sure the cracks will make their way across the windshield and it will need replacing.

We have passed not one, but two Princess Auto stores, and we are only 80 km from our destination. So far Toronto has m favorite store at least. Will keep all posted on any further developments, hated or loved. So far:
-Price of gas, same as AB, OK.
-Princess Autos Everywhere, good!
-Car accidents, might be American drivers, will reserve judgment for now.
-Happy wife, good.

Back in Canada

My air card doesn’t seem to even work in the states, perhaps, I was out of range, regardless I am doing this post from Word.

We slept well this morning of Saturday, July 4. We slept from 1am to 7:30am in the car at some truck stop in North Dakota. The air in the car was a little thin at that point in the morning, but I started the car, with the fan blowing, fresh air in breathing went back to normal. Amazing how we adjust in our sleep and breath big breaths rapidly when we are running out of oxygen. We will leave the windows open slightly if we sleep in this little car again.

I won a great victory this morning. Before we left I bought a GPS, that Michelle wanted nothing to do with. She says it is for stupid lazy people, that can’t find their way. I found it priceless, but Michelle printed out google map directions for herself, and refused to even have the GPS anywhere in sight or ear shot wile she is driving. Well guess who is using the GPS now. The thing is great, even when we hit Saskatoon, and they had the big Arbys sign on the way into Saskatoon, we are like “we need Arbys!”. Well we did several km of the strip, and no Arbys, so I punched it into my $88 GPS, Arbys is 4 km strait ahead, who would have known otherwise. After all that Arbys wouldn’t take our coupons, from the $20 coupon book.

Gas is so cheap here in the states, but we all know that. I was surprised that Saskatchewan gas was $1.06, We haven’t seen gas above $0.92 a liter for months in Alberta. I still fill my truck up with $0.60/L propane.
North Dakota is flat prairie just like Alberta and Saskatchewan, boring. Michelle is up for a treat when she gets to drive through Chicago. If you recall I have done this trip before, when I picked Michelle up, but having all her stuff moving, we opted to go north around the lakes to return to AB, so she never got to drive through Chicago with me. I went through at night last time and it was a crazy mess of cars merging into lanes from underground and above ground and I don’t even know where they came from a lot of time, but the city was not resting at night. During the day it is probably wall to wall 8 lane traffic jam.

We were thinking we might drive dune buggies across Canada next summer, on the Iron Horse trail, which is the old railway track that goes by our house, with tracks removed. We got 2 other girls from Willingdon interested in getting quads and coming for the trip too. I don’t believe any of the women will carry through with it, after the first 4 hours they will be so dirty, they will likely want to go home. But we don’t know how far the trail goes East or west. Keep meaning to look it up online. Hate to be going without a destination.

On the Road

Our leaving was a little disorginized this morning. We didn't get on the road till 9:30am.

We had a good laugh this morning, Michelle tried to get a picture, but she couldn't find the camera. Mwa ha ah. I had just made us delicious lattes, that we were drinking as we got ready. Wile holding my precious latte in my left hand I lifted my arm to put deodorant on and dumped my whole latte over my head. So I have sticky hard coffee hair to remind me.

We arranged to have the lawn mowed wile we are gone for a case of beer, everything else at the house should be fine. I did turn the well pump off, but just realized I forgot to turn the pressure tank off and blow out the lines.

No worries about the water lines however, because Michelle did get the job at Lamont High and she has to be back for August 21 for special training. I don't see there to be any possibility of water lines freezing in the next 6 weeks.

My mom asked how I am going to make money online. I am a bit scattered in this subject because there is so many cool ways to do so, I am not sure which way I should focus on yet. I will attempt to explain the 4 methods I understand here.

Method #1 is creating a riveting blog that people can't stay away from. They just have to keep coming back to reference it or see the latest information. Ultimately you are generating traffic, and with the huge traffic you will make money from google pay per click advertising, and related websights will pay $1000 to run a banner add on your web site if there is enough traffic. This would be a fun project, writing about what interests me, forex, alternative energy, and fuels.

#2 would be CPA offers, which is making people millions annually. I beleive that stands for C???? Per Acquisition. There are millions of offers every month to choose from, and you make big money if you can figure out which offers people will love and sign up for. I only have one example, which is a dead offer now. That is at bestfreemakeup.com. The sight is a farse, it is constructed by affiliates to collect email adresses for Mac make up. Every link leads to the free makeup offer, which you need to suply your email adress for. The affiliates recieve $5 for everybody who signs up. All the affiliate needs to do is create the sight, and then direct the traffic to it, generally using pay per click advertising. This Mac websight made about $17000 a month with $7-$8000 paid out in advertising. Because the offers are short lived, for a month or 2, there is no time to establish a high google rating, or "orgaic" traffic. This wouldn't be as much fun but makes a lot of money, should I have time to really get into it.

#3 is making people a lot of money also. It is similar to the above only you collect the email list. One does this by offering something for free, like an ebook, in exchange for an email adress, to a focused audience. In my opinion you need to keep offering valuable iinformation in weekly emails or people will opt out of your email list. Then on occasion you can give them offers for software, and ebooks that will help them reach their goals. Software and information products always offer a 50-75% commission, and with an average list of 10,000 avid readers that can be very lucrative. At the same time you can still make money from google advertising at the same time.

#4 would work in conjunction w #3 as well. This idea was really hit home w a sight called zedomax. I signed up for his mailings, same as above, when I was on his gokart sight. I thought "I can make a gokart sight, how is this guy making money from go karts." At that point I made a go kart sight rite away, without even knowing how I was going to capitolize on it. I think it is diykartplans.com, or diygokartplans.com, not sure. The link to get kart plans isn't good yet, and there is no content in the sight yet, but w godady advertising the sight costs only $10 a year. So then the emails started coming in from zedmax, and they were intriguing. Max spends his days surfing the internet, finding cool gagets online, through Amazon, and various gadget.com type websights. Then he sends out emails with titles of these crazy gizmos. Many of them are electronic plans, hacks, and ideas, that don't make him any money, but they do drag you throgh his heavily advertised on sight to get to the jucy information. The rest of the stuff still goes through his sight, and if you want to buy the cool product, he gets 10% from these online stores, as an affiliate. Very simple, but since he has aquired a list of over 100,000 people, he gets a lot of traffic, and he is rated highly in google, so he gets a lot of organic traffic also. Advertisers pay him 5 times as much as his already good money from commissions.

#5 is to make your own digitally deliverable product to sell online. There are many many offers to buy peoples systems for making money online, but they are all pretty simple. I did recently find the thirtydaychallenge.com which I believe will be 30 days in August. The challenge will be to make your first $10 online, by creating your own product and selling it. Ed Dale sends out daily training videos, just enough that someone could manage it after working an 8 hour day. It sounds like a very in depth and thorough course, but the best part is it is free. Or maybe the best part is that it is not overwhelming at all. There is a simple goal and focus. I would recomend the challenge to anybody interested in making money online, you will at least learn a lot from it. The fact that it is free, he has created a huge following, and when he offers an affiliate product, a huge percentage of his followers buy it, because they know it is going to be good. He has over 200 videos on youtube, which are all leading up to previous thirtydaychallenges, they help you get software and add ons installed in preperation. Then all his trainings are deleted at the end of 30 days and you have an option to buy the whole system if you didn't keep up.

In the end, I will do my forex, being a sure thing. I will create a more professional blog, with my journal. There will be a page of must read books, all links to Amazon trading books, that I get commissions on. There will be banner ads for my favorite software, and trading robots, which will pay me $50 per sale. There will be links to brokers, which will pay me an unknown sum over $50. I will sell my own system eventually, but in the mean time I have resale rights on 7 ebooks that I can give away for email adresses, or sell. I will start a forum and work towards being as big as babypips.com. The work will be in search engine optimization, to develop organic traffic. So that will happen for sure, and as I get more fluent with web sites and autoresponders I will branch out into the other catagories, building my online empire, maintainable from anywhere in the world.

Thats it for my laptop battery, still in AB, just passed Minburn, on the transcanada, headed east.
